Social Media Anxiety Disorder: Can You Unplug?

SMAD Unplugging

On Huffington Post’s Healthy Living @HealthyLiving and GPS for the Soul @GPSforSoul, we participated in a live twitter chat with tips on how to unplug and how to know if you are suffering  from SMAD. What is SMAD? It’s a non-medical syndrome that I wrote about in an article earlier this year called, Are You Suffering From Social Media Anxiety Disorder?

With the plethora of social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, as well as blogging and commenting, it’s something that takes hours away from our loved ones.

With the hashtag of #SMAD, we spent an hour chatting about the concerns of our children texting in the classroom, to #FOMO (fear of missing out) and #JOMO (joy of missing out).

Here are some of our favorite tweets. Let us know in the comments some of your #SMAD moments.
